Awareness Programme on “Women’s Health & Menstrual Hygiene Management”

Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy, Nagapattinam, Tamil Nadu, through its Institutional Innovation Cell (IIC), successfully organized an Awareness Programme on “Women’s Health & Menstrual Hygiene Management” on 22nd January 2026 at the Seminar Hall of the college. The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among girl students about women’s health, menstrual hygiene, personal cleanliness, nutrition, and the importance of adopting safe and healthy hygienic practices. Around 80 girl students from Pharm.D, B.Pharm, and D.Pharm actively participated in the programme. The session was led by Mrs. S. Sangeetha, M.A., D.T.Ed., Block Level Resource Person, Mahalir Thittam (TNSRLM), Nagapattinam District, and was supported by Mr. N. Srirangapani, Mr. M. K. Thangamani, and Mrs. S. Priya, who provided practical guidance and clarified common misconceptions related to menstruation. The programme was highly interactive and included visual demonstrations and active student participation, and it received very positive feedback from the students, who found the session highly useful and informative. The event stands as a meaningful initiative of the institution towards promoting women’s health awareness, dignity, and hygienic practices among students.
