Samathuva Pongal Celebration 2026 – A Grand Success at SINCOP

Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy, Nagapattinam, successfully celebrated Samathuva Pongal 2026 with great enthusiasm and cultural spirit on the college campus. The celebration was organized with the objective of promoting unity, equality, and harmony among students and staff, reflecting the true essence of Samathuva (equality). The campus was beautifully decorated with traditional Pongal-themed arrangements, sugarcane, rangoli designs, festive banners, and cultural backdrops, creating a joyful and vibrant atmosphere. Students and staff actively participated in the celebration, dressed in traditional attire, which added color and cultural richness to the event. The programme began with a brief inaugural address highlighting the importance of Pongal as a harvest festival and emphasizing the values of social equality, unity, and togetherness. The symbolic Pongal cooking ceremony was performed, signifying prosperity, gratitude to nature, and collective well-being. Students enthusiastically took part in the celebrations, and the event showcased the spirit of togetherness beyond differences of caste, creed, and background, truly reflecting the theme of Samathuva Pongal. The traditional elements such as decorated Pongal pot, sugarcane, and festive decorations attracted everyone’s attention and created a memorable experience. The management, Principal, teaching and non-teaching staff appreciated the students for their disciplined participation and collective efforts in making the event a grand success.
