The session was led by Mr. P. Sakthi Pradeep, M.B.A., Head of the Department of Fire and Industrial Safety Management, Sir Issac Newton Institute, Nagapattinam. Students from Pharmacy, AHS, and DMLT departments participated actively in the program. The resource person covered key safety topics including fire alarm operation, fire response techniques, practical fire extinguisher handling, safe evacuation procedures, assembly point and head-count protocols, and general emergency preparedness guidelines. Additionally, students received hands-on training in Basic CPR, learning how to identify cardiac arrest and perform effective chest compressions through practical demonstrations. Following the instructional session, a full-scale mock drill was conducted at the college entrance, where students practiced fire response, extinguisher use, evacuation processes, and assembly procedures.
