Orientation Programme for the First-Year B.Pharm and D.Pharm students (2025–2026 batch)

The Orientation Programme for the First-Year B.Pharm and D.Pharm students (2025–2026 batch) was organized by Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy, Nagapattinam from October 28 to 31, 2025, between 9:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. The event was designed to introduce new students to the academic system, institutional values, and departmental activities while helping them adapt to their professional education environment. The inaugural session on October 28, 2025, began with a General Session on Pharmacy and SINCOP delivered by Dr. C. Senthil Kumar, Principal, followed by an inspiring Motivational Talk by Prof. Dr. K. Suresh Kanna, Dean, Sir Issac Newton College of Arts and Science. In the afternoon, Mrs. R. Vanitha Devi, Vice-Principal, addressed the students on Understanding Examination System and Academic Evaluation, and Ms. M. Sneha guided the students through the Pharmacognosy Laboratory Visit. On October 29, 2025, Mr. J. Vinoth introduced the Department of Pharmaceutics, followed by a session on Institutional Code of Conduct and Student Responsibility by Dr. R. Prema, Principal, Sir Issac Newton College of Physiotherapy and IQAC Director (Pharmacy/Physiotherapy). The afternoon sessions were handled by Mr. P. Balakumar on Code of Conduct, Discipline, and Student Responsibilities and Ms. K. Gowsalya, who conducted the Pharmaceutics Laboratory Visit. The third day, October 30, 2025, featured a session on Introduction to the Department of Pharmacology by Mrs. C. Niroshini, followed by a Message from the Management and Institutional Overview by Prof. Dr. K. Elangovan, Registrar, Sir Issac Newton Educational Institutions. Afternoon sessions included Academic Guidelines and Progress Monitoring System by Mr. J. Vinoth and a Pharmacology Laboratory Visit coordinated by Ms. A. S. Arisha Sri. The concluding day, October 31, 2025, began with Introduction to the Department of Pharmaceutical Chemistry by Mrs. J. Karthika and Ms. M. Ezhilarasi, followed by Introduction to the Department of Pharmacognosy by Mrs. N. Shantha Sheela. In the afternoon, Mrs. M. Shalini delivered a session on Training, Placement, and Career Development Opportunities, and Ms. S. Aanandhi guided students through the Pharmaceutical Chemistry Laboratory Visit. The four-day programme provided students with a clear understanding of institutional policies, academic expectations, departmental functions, and career pathways. It served as an engaging platform that inspired enthusiasm, discipline, and professional commitment among the new entrants of the Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy.
