World Pharmacist Day 2026 Celebrated at Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy

Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy, Nagapattinam, celebrated World Pharmacist Day 2026 on 16 September 2026 with great enthusiasm and professional spirit on the theme “Swastha Bharat: Combating Antimicrobial Resistance.” The celebration highlighted the vital role of pharmacists in promoting responsible use of medicines, combating antimicrobial resistance and strengthening public health. The programme was graced by Dr. T. Ananth, Chairman, who distributed prizes to the winners of the Pharma Quiz, SciToon, Digital Reel Making and Scientific Poster Presentation competitions and felicitated the faculty members in appreciation of their valuable contributions and commitment. The events were coordinated by Mrs. R. Vanitha Devi, D.Pharm Coordinator, and Mr. J. Vinoth, Vice-Principal. The competitions were evaluated by Mr. L. Dinesh Kumar, Placement Coordinator; Dr. P. Mohankumar, Professor & Head; Mrs. M. Shalini, Assistant Professor; and Mrs. M. Aruna, Assistant Professor. The institution sincerely acknowledges Dr. T. Ananth, Chairman, and Dr. K. Elangovan, Registrar, for their constant encouragement, guidance and appreciation extended to the pharmacy faculty and students. The celebration reflected the values of knowledge, creativity, teamwork and professional commitment, while providing students with an opportunity to express their understanding of pharmacy and antimicrobial resistance through various creative and academic activities. The college congratulates all the winners and extends heartfelt appreciation to every participant, faculty member and student who contributed to the successful celebration of World Pharmacist Day 2026.
