Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy, Pappakovil, Nagapattinam, organized an Awareness Programme on the National Leprosy Eradication Programme (NLEP) to educate students about leprosy prevention, early detection, treatment and eradication. Dr. R. Gunaseelan, MBBS, DDVL., Deputy Director, NLEP, Nagapattinam, delivered an informative presentation and provided valuable insights into the importance of early diagnosis, appropriate treatment and prevention of leprosy. Mr. Nagarajan, Health Inspector, Nagapattinam, also addressed the students and shared valuable information on community-level prevention and health awareness. Dr. R. Prema, Principal, SINCOP, delivered the Welcome Address and addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of awareness and community participation in public health initiatives. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. C. Senthil Kumar, IQAC Coordinator & Head, Department of Pharmaceutics. The session was highly informative and helped students develop a better understanding of leprosy, its early identification, prevention and the importance of community participation in achieving leprosy eradication. Elangovan, Registrar, for their continuous encouragement and support in organizing such meaningful health awareness programmes.
