Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) Organizes MIC-Driven Live Session on Strengthening Scientific Research and Innovation in HEIs

As part of the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC) – MIC Driven Activity 2026, Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy, Nagapattinam, successfully organized a live online session on "Strengthening Scientific Research and Innovation in HEIs: ANRF's Vision, Priorities, and Support Framework" on 31 July 2026. The expert session was delivered by Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, CEO, Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), who shared valuable insights into India's evolving research ecosystem, national research priorities, innovation-driven initiatives and the funding opportunities available through ANRF. The session also highlighted strategies for strengthening research culture, promoting interdisciplinary collaborations and enhancing innovation in higher educational institutions. Faculty members and students of Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy actively participated in the live session, gaining a comprehensive understanding of research funding mechanisms, innovation support systems and emerging opportunities for academic and scientific advancement. The interactive programme inspired participants to pursue research excellence and contribute meaningfully to national innovation initiatives. The programme was successfully coordinated by Dr. R. Mohan Kumar, Professor and Head, Department of Pharmacology, and Mrs. R. Vanitha Devi, Associate Professor, Department of Pharmaceutics, under the banner of the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC).
