D.Pharm Second Year Students Visit Kerala State Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited (KSDP)

Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy, Nagapattinam, successfully organized a One-Day Industrial Visit for D.Pharm Second Year students to Kerala State Drugs and Pharmaceuticals Limited (KSDP), a Government of Kerala Enterprise, located at Kalavoor, Alappuzha, Kerala, on 20 July 2026. A total of 41 students, accompanied by Ms. K. Gowsalya, Ms. T. Subalakshmi and Mr. V. Balachandru, participated in the industrial visit. The visit was organized with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to pharmaceutical manufacturing processes and industrial practices. During the visit, the students had the opportunity to observe various departments, including Production, Quality Control (QC), Quality Assurance (QA), Packaging and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). The technical experts at KSDP explained the manufacturing workflow, quality management systems, regulatory compliance and safety protocols followed in pharmaceutical production, enabling the students to bridge the gap between classroom learning and industrial applications. The industrial visit offered valuable insights into large-scale pharmaceutical manufacturing and strengthened the students' understanding of industrial operations, quality standards and professional ethics. The interactive sessions with industry professionals further enhanced their knowledge and inspired them to explore career opportunities in the pharmaceutical industry.
