Faculty Participation in Orientation Programme on "Institutional Ranking and Accreditation: Perspective and Prospects"

The faculty members of Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy (SINCOP), Nagapattinam, actively participated in the Orientation Programme on "Institutional Ranking and Accreditation: Perspective and Prospects", organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Sir Issac Newton College of Arts and Science, on 18th July 2026. The programme was conducted with the objective of enhancing awareness among faculty members regarding institutional ranking frameworks, accreditation processes, quality assurance practices, and continuous quality improvement in higher education. The programme was graced by Dr. R. Prema, M.Pharm., Ph.D., LL.B., Principal, Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy, who delivered the felicitation address. In her address, she emphasized the significance of quality assurance, institutional excellence, and the collective responsibility of faculty members in achieving accreditation and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. The technical session was delivered by Dr. R. Arthur James, M.Sc., Ph.D., Director – IQAC, Professor & Chair, Department of Marine Science, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli. He provided a comprehensive overview of institutional ranking systems, accreditation methodologies, quality benchmarks, documentation practices, and strategic approaches for achieving excellence in higher educational institutions. The session also highlighted the importance of outcome-based education, research productivity, innovation, governance, and institutional best practices. During the programme, Dr. C. Senthil Kumar, M.Pharm., Ph.D., IQAC Coordinator, shared his valuable thoughts and professional experiences on quality initiatives and accreditation practices. His insights enriched the programme and enhanced the participants' understanding of quality assurance mechanisms, documentation, and the implementation of best practices in higher education institutions. The faculty members of Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy actively participated in the interactive discussions and knowledge-sharing sessions. The programme served as an excellent platform to strengthen their understanding of accreditation standards, institutional ranking systems, and quality enhancement strategies, thereby contributing to their professional development.
