Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy Organizes International Yoga Day 2026 Programme

Greetings from Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy, Pappakovil, Nagapattinam. As part of the observance of International Yoga Day 2026, Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy organized a Yoga Awareness and Practice Session on 19 June 2026 at the SINCOP Auditorium under the theme “Breathe, Balance, Achieve – Fellow Pharmacist.” The programme was conducted with the objective of promoting awareness on the importance of yoga for maintaining physical health, mental well-being, and a balanced lifestyle among students. The session was led by Dr. S. Kaviya BNYS and Dr. Sugapriya BNYS, Tutor-cum-Medical Officers from Sir Issac Newton Naturopathy & Yoga Medical College, Nagapattinam. The resource persons delivered an informative and engaging session highlighting the significance of yoga in improving flexibility, concentration, emotional stability, stress management, and overall wellness. They also demonstrated various yoga postures, breathing techniques, and relaxation practices, enabling the students to understand the practical benefits of yoga in daily life. A total of 55 students actively participated in the programme, including 31 D.Pharm students and 24 Pharm.D students. The participants enthusiastically took part in the yoga practice session and gained valuable practical exposure to different yoga techniques aimed at improving both physical and mental health. The programme served as an enriching experience for the students and encouraged them to adopt yoga as a regular part of a healthy lifestyle. The International Yoga Day programme was highly beneficial in creating awareness among students about the role of yoga in achieving harmony of body and mind, especially in the context of academic life and future professional responsibilities. The interactive session not only enhanced the students’ understanding of yoga but also motivated them to incorporate wellness practices into their routine for better health and productivity. Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy expresses its sincere gratitude to Dr. S. Kaviya BNYS and Dr. Sugapriya BNYS for conducting the session and sharing their valuable expertise with the students.
