World Hypertension Day 2026 Awareness Programme Successfully Organized

Greetings from Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy, Pappakovil, Nagapattinam. The B.Pharm VIII Semester students of Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy successfully organized an Awareness Programme on World Hypertension Day 2026 under the WHO theme “Controlling Hypertension Together” on 15th May 2026 at the Seminar Hall, SINCOP. The programme was conducted with the objective of creating awareness among students regarding hypertension, preventive healthcare, healthy lifestyle practices, and the importance of early diagnosis and management of cardiovascular diseases. Dr. R. Prema, Principal, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of hypertension awareness, preventive healthcare measures, and the role of healthcare professionals in promoting community health and wellness. The programme served as an informative platform to educate students about lifestyle modifications, healthy dietary habits, stress management, and regular health monitoring for the prevention of hypertension. As part of the celebration, various student competitions including E-Poster Presentation, Awareness Video Clip Presentation, and Model Demonstration were conducted with enthusiastic participation from students. The participants showcased innovative ideas and creative presentations focusing on hypertension awareness, prevention, management, and healthy lifestyle practices. The activities encouraged students to enhance their scientific knowledge, communication skills, and public health awareness. The programme was successfully coordinated by Dr. M. Vishnupriya, whose dedicated efforts and guidance contributed significantly to the successful accomplishment of the event. Faculty members and students actively supported the programme and ensured its smooth conduct. The awareness programme reflected SINCOP’s commitment towards promoting public health awareness, preventive healthcare education, and community welfare initiatives among future healthcare professionals. Sir Issac Newton College of Pharmacy continues to encourage students to actively participate in health awareness programmes and socially responsible healthcare activities.
